Step #1: Get the Claim Memo Into an Excel-Readable Format
1. Log in to GM DealerWorld --> Business Administration --> GM Exchange Reports Mailbox
2. Select your Dealer / Division #
3. Select the desired Application Name (i.e., WINSCLMEMO)
4. Click [SEARCH]
5. Highlight the claim memo you want.
6. Hold [CONTROL] key down while you click "WORD VIEW"
7. Dialog box opens. Hold [CONTROL] key and click "Save"
8. Choose destination for the file and click "Save"
9. Navigate to where you saved the file (probably named "Mailbox.rtf")
10. Using Word, Wordpad, etc., open the file "Mailbox.rtf"
11. Now we must save it as plain text: FILE --> SAVE AS
12. Save as type: Plain text (*.txt) (select from drop-down menu)
13. SAVE
14. [OK]
15. Open a blank Excel workbook / spreadsheet.
16. FILE --> OPEN --> Navigate to and select the text file ("Mailbox.txt") you just created.
17. Excel opens its Text Import Wizard.
18. Select the radio button beside "Fixed Width" if it's not already selected.
19. NEXT --> NEXT --> FINISH
20. FILE --> SAVE AS -->
21. Save as type: Microsoft Office Excel Workbook (*.xls)
22. SAVE
The claim memo is now imported to Excel!!
